Source versions, editorial corrections and review coverage are recorded in the data provenance and flag provenance.

Country and capital data

Localized country names use Unicode CLDR data. The applicable Unicode license and notice are retained. Wikidata's structured data is available under CC0. Official country and EU sources were used as factual cross-checks; their website prose and layout are not reproduced.

Flag artwork

Flags were downloaded from FlagCDN, following Flagpedia's API guidance. The provider declares the flag images public domain; this declaration does not extend to the provider's website design or text. Original SVG files and their proportions are retained. PDF artwork uses high-resolution lossless images, prepared ahead of time for fast export; text remains vector-sharp.

Review boundaries

Every country has ten nonempty country/capital name pairs, with source-based locale cross-checks and an exception review. This is not independent native-speaker certification of every translated name. Flags received exhaustive technical checks, contact-sheet review and targeted checks of recent changes and unusual proportions. Printer alignment depends on the printer; no physical print certification is claimed.

Explanatory notes are English. The deck follows a UN-based 195-entry convention. Geographic and political exceptions are explained in the app and on the relevant printed answers.

Site statistics

Cookie-free aggregate statistics are provided by GoatCounter. We count page loads, named clicks and PDF download handoffs, without visitor IDs or individual histories. Requests are used to derive broad country and browser totals; no IP address is retained in the analytics database. The dashboard is private and statistics are retained for 365 days. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control requests are respected.
